I need alittle help for my friend it is about 16-17 weeks pregnant?

On wednesday my friend had a small procedure done. Her pap smear came back abnormal and they found some stops on her cervix that are not normal. BEcause she is pregnant they only took a small sample. WEll not for the last few days she has been bleeding heavier then what a normal period is. She says it starts and stops a lot and she has mild cramping. She went the ER Thursday morning because she though she was mascaraing the baby. They told her she wanst and everything checked out fine with the baby. But now is friday late afternoon and she is still bleeding bright red blood. She has called her dr and the ER. They both say that if she is not gushing blood or in bad bad pain then its fine.Are we just over acting or what? What should she watch for and what not. Thanks for the help
