Left laptop in sun now it wont turn on?

Every morning I hook my bf's laptop up to the speaker system in our room so I can listen to music while getting ready for work. It was about a foot away from the window sill. I accidentily left the comp open when I left and just shut off the speakers. I got home in the afternoon and it wont turn on! It says its charging but the screen remains black and nothing lights up! Please tell me I didnt ruin his laptop! It still wont turn on 3 days later. Anything I can do? Besides buying him a new one (which I will if I can't get this to work)
